September was one of our biggest months yet. Our new pricing model is now live with Creative Units (CUs) as the new way to measure generation usage. You can now view and manage your usage directly from your workspace dashboard, with clear breakdowns across users, models, and plans.
We also rolled out new tools that make content creation faster, smarter, and more flexible. Prompt Editing is now a full standalone feature on Layer, letting you modify assets in seconds. Style Blending is also now available to merge trained styles into one generation for cross-style collabs or multiple characters together in one generation.
On the video side, Veo 3 Fast joins the lineup for quicker cinematic-quality results + standard Veo 3 is now much cheaper to use! We also added in Sora 2 from OpenAI, a new video model making BIG waves across the industry. For 2D and editing: New models like Kling 2.5, Wan 2.5, Ray 2, Seedream 4, and more - plus a refreshed Reference Image editor that gives you tighter control over framing, alignment, and fit.
Whew! That’s a lot, but hey.. the AI industry moves a mile a minute - and we’re determined to keep you at the forefront. 🏃

New models: Kling 2.5, Wan 2.5, Ray 2, Seedream 4, & more 🔥
We’re expanding Layer’s lineup again in a big way - adding a wave of new models that give game studios even more flexibility across every part of their creative pipeline.

Designing the Future of Layer: Welcome Megan Whelen 🎨
2025 is already a milestone year for Layer. From audio generation, to new pricing models, prompt editing, new style training and more - we’ve added a LOT to the platform. This is all great stuff, but it presents a challenge: How do we keep all these features awesome and organized without turning the platform into UX spaghetti?

Building the Future of Layer: Welcome John Wood👾
We’re thrilled to welcome John Wood as our new VP of Engineering. John brings over 17 years experience building tools, games, and teams across industries - from defense to the games. His leadership will be essential to help us take our platform to the next level.
Looking Ahead 🔮
We’ve released a lot of the last month or so, which is great considering most of the team is heads down on some pretty amazing features that are coming SOON! A big thing for us is thinking beyond the present: What will game studios need down the road?
We’re bullish on automation and customization, tools that let game teams scale like never before - while offering players more localized and personalized experiences.
More to share on that soon - stay tuned for early November.
