This summer has been all about leveling up the creative process for game studios. From sound effects and VO with our brand-new Audio Generation, to faster and smarter Custom Style Training, to frame-by-frame video control and drag & drop usability - we’ve shipped some of our biggest updates yet. For the full list of updates check out our release notes.

We get it - players always want more content. These new features are designed to help game teams move faster, stay consistent, and scale pipelines like never before. Whether you’re refining concepts, building out live service campaigns, or just ideating, Layer now gives you more power and flexibility than ever.

We are also updating our Pricing to a consumption-based model - removing any per/seat fees and moving to a system where you only pay for what you create. Check out our blog or Pricing FAQ for more details.

Winner! “Best use of AI” at the Mobile Game Awards

We won Best use of AI at the Mobile Games Awards. This one means a lot. Because for us, AI has never been about hype. It’s about giving game studios real tools they can use every day to create, scale, and stay creative.

Pricing Changes coming on Sept 9

We’re changing how pricing works on Layer. Make it easier for game teams of all sizes to access powerful AI tools - and only pay for what they create.

Tutorial: Create longer consistent videos with Select Video Frame

Drop in a video anywhere you can upload a reference image, scroll or step frame-by-frame, and choose the exact moment you need. Match the last frame of one clip to the first frame of the next to keep visuals consistent and your story flowing.

Looking Ahead 🔮

Okay, summer has been BUSY, but we have a huge update coming out in the next few months. We’ve teased it a few times, but we’re really keen on scaling game studio’s work as much as possible, so more automation only makes sense right? 😉

More on that soon. Outside of the big stuff we’re also hyper focused on the studios we’re working with every day, collecting feedback, improving usability, squashing bugs, etc - we also hired a new Product lead + designer, so expect some awesome stuff coming down the pipe visually as well. We know that the best features are only as good as the UX!

Stay tuned.
