We completed a HUGE seed funding round, raising 6.5M to keep making awesome tools for game studios. We also released like a billion new AI models this month. COINCIDENCE? I think not!
But seriously, we couldn’t be more excited as a team to expand our offerings, grow to bring YOU more amazing features, and always offer the latest and greatest of the gen-AI world. Let’s keep building awesome things for players together. To that end, we now have Veo 3, Kling 2.1 for video creation + Imagen 4 and FLUX Kontext for 2D generations. A killer lineup of new models that will help you support your game’s pipeline for even better 2D images (that you can edit), and next-level video trailers, animations, and more.
Outside of new models, we’ve added some great new features around Prompt Editing, giving you the ability to change specific elements of your game scenes with ease, super useful for essentially any game type.
Oh, and we redid the Layer website, it’s awesome - so check it out!
Platform Updates ⚙️
Improvements and changes to the Layer platform.
New Features
2D creation evolving! Our Refine tools can now use prompts for incredibly accurate image editing:
Layer editing tools are now powered by FLUX Kontext, joining GPT4o and Gemini. AI quickly understands your instructions and can edit a specific element in your image while staying consistent. This is key when editing game scenes - without reforging the entire image.
Beyond editing, base models are also improving: Imagen 4 is another amazing model that accurately understands user context - available for all users. With new models coming out monthly, it’s important to always be using the latest/greatest.
2025 = the year of video. Now with Veo 3 and Kling 2.1 you can now create better video assets than ever before. Layer is the first games-focused app ever to support native audio integration, saving significant time with video production. We also added Kling 2.1, amazing for creating dynamic character scenes, game animations, and more - across any style.
New round, new look! Layer.ai 2.0 is now live!: Last but not least - we’ve released our newly redesigned and improved website! Check it out at layer.ai.
